Richmond Hill (Mill Pond): removal, mold treatment, and a rebuild — the full-scope job

Completed July 2026 · Real project, identified by area only to protect our customer’s privacy. Every photo is from this job. · Serving Richmond Hill

Two case studies up, we showed an Oak Ridges attic where removal would have been an upsell. This Mill Pond home is the other side of that coin — the inspection found mold staining across the sheathing and evidence of pest activity in the insulation itself. Contaminated material doesn’t get buried; it gets removed.

1The Problem

Once animals have been through insulation, topping it up seals the contamination into the house’s air envelope. And with mold established overhead, this attic needed to come back to bare wood before anything new went in.

2What the Inspection Found

The photo set drove an honest conversation: this was the expensive version of the job, and the homeowner deserved to see exactly why. Mold across multiple sheathing sections, pest evidence through the insulation layer, and the airflow problems that had let both take hold.

3How We Fixed It

The full reset, sequenced over the visit:

  • Removed the contaminated insulation, bagged and disposed of safely
  • Treated the affected sheathing with our full mold protocol — cleaning, restoration, protective sealant
  • Sanitized and air-sealed the attic floor
  • Restored soffit airflow with baffles
  • Blew fresh fiberglass from clean joists up to R-60
The rebuilt attic: fresh, full R-60 coverage over a clean deck.

4The Result

Contamination out, wood treated and protected, airflow restored, and a brand-new R-60 blanket — the whole story in one photo timeline. When removal is genuinely needed, this is what it should look like. 10-year workmanship warranty.

5The Short Version

This Mill Pond home in Richmond Hill is the other side of the honest-scope coin: where an Oak Ridges attic two case studies earlier needed only a top-up, this inspection found mold staining across the roof sheathing and evidence of pest activity in the insulation itself. Contaminated material doesn’t get buried under fresh fiberglass — it gets removed. Confirmed Attics & Insulation stripped the attic, treated and protected the affected wood, restored the airflow path, and rebuilt the assembly to a brand-new R-60 blanket, all in a single day and documented in one photo timeline. When removal is genuinely needed, this is what it should look like: full scope, clear photographic evidence for why, and a finished attic that starts again from zero contamination. Completed July 2026; 10-year workmanship warranty.
